All of our products deliver industrial strength, but are safe enough to be used in and around the home. [See the complete product list](https://safe-react.com/products.htm) or work through the [Product Finder](https://safe-react.com/pfstart.htm) one task at a time. ## How the formulations behave *Reaction and handling properties* | Fume behaviour | Salt-based formulations do not produce toxic fumes; the phosphoric-acid formulations do not produce significant fumes. | |---|---| | D.O.T. classification | The salt-based Safe Concrete Remover is non-corrosive by D.O.T. standards; the phosphoric-acid Econo and Combo formulations are classed corrosive to skin. | | Effect on surfaces | Does not attack metal, glass or plastic; aluminium may discolour where phosphoric acid is present. | | Reaction on concrete | Effervesces on contact with concrete in the same way as hydrochloric acid and other acids. | | Active chemistry | A proprietary salt mixture in the Safe and Plus formulations; phosphoric acid in the Econo formulation; both combined in the Combo formulation. | ### When etching is finished You will have been successful when the surface is at least as rough as 150 grit sandpaper, water drops do not bead, and the pH is neutral. The pH can be tested with a common paper pH test strip or a pH pencil.
